5 music festivals to beat those winter blues

Like many people across the country right now, I am quite fed up with these frigid temps. I have had my fair share of winter weather and I think those living on the east coast can agree with me on that one.

As much as I want to book a trip to the beach right now, I have instead decided to put all my energy into planning for my favorite season… music festival season!

Music festivals combine two of my favorite things – live music and the adventure of travel. There is nothing better than hearing your favorite artists perform live, surrounded by others who enjoy their music too.

Lollapalooza, held in downtown Chicago, is a personal favorite of mine because of its location. I grew up just a train ride away from Chicago and have spent my fair share of time in the windy city. But Lollapalooza provides me with an entirely new travel experience and perspective of the city I frequently visit. I look forward to those hot summer days in Grant Park listening to all types of music and being able to admire Chicago’s beautiful skyline in the distance. It is what I like to call the ‘icing on the cake.’

Thankfully for someone who thoroughly enjoys the experience of music festivals, there seem to be more and more added across the country every year. I have compiled a list down below of 5 music festivals that are worth checking out based on their location. Enjoy!
